Quick update. . .we've been in our orientation for the past few days learning about what to expect when we start teaching here. I found out I'll be teaching 1st and 2nd graders!! So lots of acting and singing and visuals since this will be the first intro. to English for most of them.
We're now in Ko Samet, an island just south of Bangkok, taking a short vaca before we have to start teaching in a couple weeks. After taking a taxi, charter bus, another taxi, a cart attached to a motorcycle, a ferry, a truck, then hopping on the back of a mo-ped. . .we FINALLY made it to our bungalow last night. Then we were able to wake up and hit the beach. White sands and 70 degree water. . .not bad.

ReplyDeleteKel-I love your story about how you got to the your bungalow, I remember a few travel stories in Africa involving lots of different modes of "transportation" getting between places. Sounds like you're having fun!
